THE RAIN
The staccato of the rain
Gently falls upon the roof.
The storm clouds move
So swiftly by
And all remain aloof.
Although the rain decides to stay,
The sun is under cloud,
The flowers look to God above,
The birds went on their way.
No sounds around me do I hear
But the gentle pouring rain.
The earth rejoices as it comes
At last a day without full sun.
The flowers and the trees all say
I need this blessed rain,
My leaves are dry, my roots shall bear
This falling rain around me came.
The earth and sky and heavens
Hear the thunder roar,
But we are thankful for this rain,
We thank You ever more.

Another refreshing and soothing poem that makes me almost feel the cool raindrops falling! Yes - we must be thankful for the rain.
