ON THIS SPECIAL DAY
We sit across the table
As we eat and talk and pray
We share with
Friends and family
On this special day.
We wake up in the morning Lord
And thank you one and all
We sing your praises
In a loving way
On this special day.
We come before you and give thanks
The thanks that You deserve
You always stay beside us
Sometimes throwing us a curve.
We wait and hope that one day
We will learn to thank You when
You answer all our prayers
We accept Your timing then.
We hope you know we love you
Even though we do complain
We’ve learned to always grumble
We should thank You for the rain.
In fact dear Lord
When day is done
We need to thank you too
For everything in this day
Has come to us from You.
Guide us now, my Gentle Friend
Forgive us what we do
We come to give you thanks,
Dear Lord, hear us when we pray
We praise and thank You Lord
On this special day.
