I became intoxicated on Southern Comfort
as I defined well the hydrographic density
seeping to the marrow of my dusty bones
with the incessant need to hear the music
through the reassuring luxury of her voice

I was in urgent need of her forest of words
that swayed in the breeze of exotic clouds
which washed away the hot humidity of sin
replacing it all with a replenishing solidarity
that soothed me in the comfort of syllables

I transcended dreams to a southeast front
that swallowed images of magnolia petals
and parasols that drifted high unto heaven
while trumpets ushered in the morning sun
dawning triumphantly from iridescent gates

I played my piano under her crescent moon
and touched the familiar keys of tranquillity
embracing the warmth of a sweet essence
as she would close her eyes softly, smiling
while I ventured deeply into her plantation

I followed the inspiration of her gentle smile
and walked through the gardens of serenity
that blossomed from her incredulous charm
and photographed the fringe of her midnight
and developed the night with passionate kiss

I craved her healing through the intimate night
where scented candles and sweet wine flowed
the champagne of her skin melted my breath
while we shimmered under the cooling sheets
and off we flew to another heaven in the dawn
