Synthasia walked a loose tightrope
between heartbreak and the moon
a thin line between yesterday and today
metered finely in seconds that passed
accumulating into minutes and hours
while counted off in the distant beating
of an old heart too often filled with love
and with a pause in an aching dream
Synthasia knew not what was coming
for she had stumbled upon a row of tears
that she had left behind her on that road
that she had traveled quite infrequent
turning abruptly left into a wanton maze
of lingering regret and desperate anonymity
with curves that defied perpetual motion
and gravity equated to too much ventured
Synthasia viewed the world in chapters
neglecting the reason for being a woman
when the whole world spun in tangents
and reasoning no longer filled the void
between her truth and a vain existence
stepping into the darkness of her being
emerging on the opposite side of heaven
where the crowds are the most expected
Synthasia saw everything except my love
She, too comfortable standing in her shoes
Upon ground once considered sacred
Where not even demons would traverse
She lingered too long in the inversion
That captured the essence of my being
And became ensnared in the invisible
That projected deep into hallowed ground
"We can never give up our dreams...for they are what holds us like the gravity of our souls" - Amor
good to see you around....well done! would expect nothing less ;) I can envision a row of tears. ~ Morgan

Something exotic, something mystical, something metaphysical in the physicality of this exotic write permeates and suffuses the imagery and the ideology created by these four stanzas: may the invisible not liberate as easily as it ensnares? or maybe the inversion, layer upon layer, subverts itself in an essence that ultimately transcends "hallowed ground" to attain an apotheosis whose allure even Synthasia cannot resist. Food for the god of thought, is it not?
Deeply engrossing and romantic. Some can see what is beyond....M

I agree with John Flanagan, Amor, that this is "writing of a higher order." My first impression for the feel of this writing was the word "abyss," as in bottomless...not as in abysmal. Depth and charge of energy in dark and light colors: "....moon/a thin line between yesterday and today,"..aching dream,"and gravity equated to too much ventured." The yellow highlight for me is the line: "emerging on the opposite side of heaven." Wonderous writing! ~~ Diana
Goodness, Amor, you have such intimate insight into a woman's mind! You write of such complicated love with rare tenderness and understanding.

It's good to read you again. Synthasia sounds like a lost love that didn't understand the inner poet in you. But then, she may be a metaphor for something entirely different I haven't discerned yet.
