Buddha danced
On the back of a turtle
And meditated
On the meaning of life
Chasing enlightenment
While sitting.

Some of
Muhammad’s children
Blow up the innocent
After making a Hajj.
The bonus, a
Gaggle of virgins
In heaven.
The devout
Pray five times a day
Toward Mecca.

Some Christians
Go door-to-door
Carrying a Bible
Selling God
With a promise
Of salvation.
“Open your heart to Jesus.
Ask for forgiveness.”

In India
Under the flexible
Law of Karma
With no beginning
And belief
In the Brahma,
The Hindu
Swims in the holy Ganges;
Treats cattle like royalty
& returns after death
To start over again
As something else.

Lenin, Marx, Mao and Stalin
Said there was no god
So it was easy to murder.
Burned to ashes,
The atheist is
Scattered
As fertilizer
& dust.

Maybe.
