I miss us

our youthful passion
once strong,
fierce, powerful

now sits,
as we do

watching the children play
watching the TV, day
upon day,

losing ourselves
into our children

loading our desires
on their tiny shoulders

dreaming of the youth
that now has left us

screaming at the madness
called matrimony

as we kiss goodnight,
quietly stomp
to the bedroom

and silently slam the door

wow- this is something that has stopped me getting married yet- this is really well-written with a simplicity that hits like a baseball bat, love it.

Has a meloncholy tone for a live long lived, yet there is still life out there for us all to grasp...
