For you my love this heart shaped day

I found the words I want to say.

This year it falls on Monday fair

My heart and soul to you I bare.

So long ago, in ages past

words in stone they may have cast.

A letter here, a letter there

a simple word they might have shared.

Unknown to them for what they meant

It stirred the soul, for time well spent.

Raging fire among them flared

worn with ardor they did care.

Entwined by arms; the two did meet

A passion burning so did greet.

One on one a coupling grew

To be as one

Making love they knew.

To bring them closer

As years drift by

Each touch, a kiss, a simple sigh;

a breath of fresh air; a wink of the eye.

To hold you close means more to me

As treasures on earth, quickly flee.

Side by side we greet the day

Arm in arm we walk the way.

This breath in me is you, my love

For all the things you’ve done…is spun

A web, a curtain round me lies

My love for you will never die.

These words I write…not in stone today

Like they did; many eons away

I’ll gently whisper like I always do

Those, Three little words, I love you.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
