My heart bleeds for those young people who died.
Snuffed from life pleasures from a thief in the night.
Only night was day and the air was crisp
Curling around with a zing it did nip.
Not a one could imagine the horrors that lay
In the paths of the students; April's dreadful day.
No child should endure or surrender to fear
Or wonder what might happen; what ventures too near.
No one can change another man's choice
Until we speak out in a very loud voice.
No more murder, no more hate
Please don't select another man's fate.
Give them the path to walk straight and narrow
To be proud of successes and learning to gather.
The joys all to blossom or to falter together
But don't take our daughters our sons from our pleasure
They are precious to us; they are our treasures.
No one will know why the tragedy occurred
But to live with the questions...unanswered...unheard.
The nation is mourning and crying in pain
For our children and loved ones who died...A Peril's Day.
The American Way, should be the safe way...
The saddest part is that no one can make or put any sense to this unspeakable tradgedy. How does one prevent something like this from happening? Justice is not served and never will be. I hope someone can make some sense of this and find a way from having it ever happen again.
Be safe,
Karen
Oustanding composition on "A Peril's Day". This is a wonderful story-poem.
It is sad, but reality is dealt and poemized to show its darkside.
I salute You, Poet.
In admiration,
