As I sit here in silence in sunset's last rays
Watching spiders wire-walking on webs
And I hearken to sounds of the harvest
I'm reminded how life flows and ebbs
The seagulls in silence are doing their thing
On the surface of Glennifer Lake
In the azure blue sky-noisy geese fly on by
While my mind's eye this picture does take
Here and there emerald leaves are preparing for fall
Trading green for a new coat of gold
In the air tiny insects are busying about
What a wonderful sight to behold
There-the call of old loon in these hours before moon
Fills the forest with sweet silver light
It's the end of the day-and the Lord's smiled my way
And so I say simply-good night!
