Reflections of a phoolish old phart!

And the first spring crow called to me-"let's go"
And that was the magical word
So what could I do but yell out "yahoo"
And follow that rascally old bird

All winter long I have yearned for the song
Of the wild goose and first wily crow
And the robin sang too, so what else could I do
But joyfully jump up and go

The wild spirit in me simply won't set me free
Deep at heart I am really a kid
And besides I'd be lost, and the spiritual cost
Would be my death knell if I did

There are some understand, for they too love this land
And united we all stand together
So my spirit must fly when I hear that first cry
For you see, we're all birds of a feather!
