You’re the one, my one and only ... You’re the beat inside my heart ...

 
  PERFECT STRANGER
(November 5, 2009)

In the still of the night
You’re the one on my mind
I can’t sit, I can’t sleep
And my heart’s a quickened beat
I am hot and I’m cold
I no longer feel alone
And it’s all thanks to you
My perfect stranger

For a while
I was swimming in oceans of blue
But this time
I am swimming in brightest of hues
And it’s thanks to you my perfect stranger
Who has found a way to my heart
In the quiet of the day
You’re with me where I stay
Up and down, in between
You complete me endlessly
I am safe, unafraid
I no longer have blue days
And it’s all thanks to you
My perfect stranger

For a while

Thank you so much for all your feedback. This song (lyric) was written prior to being dumped. So the ending of the song didn't quite happen. Yes, the guy found a way to my heart but then he left me and tore it apart.

Ah you are such a romantic, Lena. I ought to know. We do tend to give away some of our soul and, if the "other" chooses to leave, we lose part of our "self." At least, that's the way it has been for me. Moreover, it is not true in my experience that "time heals all wounds." Your lyrics have reached the depth of my soul and the words echo there. Thank you.
