When I am old and my heart is still young, I can still look forward to spring.

The Winter of My Life

In the winter of my life,
My springs have all been spent.
And the summers just hold strife,
And my autumns up and went.

In the winter of my life,
The snow and cold are all around.
Gray skies and dark clouds thrive,
O'er the hard, and frozen ground.

Trees stand bare, like an old man,
Who's gone bald over the years.
I ask myself, is this God's plan?
But no one answers, to allay my fears.

Cold wind piercing through my bones,
I feel it more than ever now.
Is my faith like youth, now gone,
The one question in my mind is how?

How did the years go by so fast?
The winter of my life looms over me.
I always thought my youth would last,
And be around eternally.
