CAGED
I have stood at this window many a times
I stand in the wee hours of the morning
When the world in a dream remain
At these times I feel I alone am in this place
No one but eve
No Adam and no other to tell my stories to
I have made many decisions at this window
Cleared up many of my confused thoughts
Now once again I stand
Looking at the other nigh walkers as they walk by
Totally oblivious to my presents
I see them but they do not see me
For them I do not exist, my cage keeps me hidden from them
I am a caged bird
Not like Maya ‘s caged bird
This one has lost its voice
Unable to sing or to let its present be know
Someday this cage I will escape
But for now I will stand at my window
And look at the passers by
