The Lake, how beautiful it stood
Calm and still, clear and deep
The wind with its wayward self
Came fluttering by whispering gently sounds
Attempting to stir

to get a rise from the lake
To get a ripple even a small one

but nothing not even a stir would the lake produce

****
The birds overhead flew close, waiting to see what would happened before they made their descent
They came close

close enough to wet their beaks within the coolness of the lake
But all she did was smiled with knowing and bid them fare he well
So many tried to get a ripple even just bub... not the whole bubble but no
She just lay there still, silent and proud.

*****

Then one faithful day
A day so bright and beautiful you could see from ocean to ocean.
The sunshine was so bright the lake was even tempted to do dance.
Everything around her edges felt that something was stirring at a distance
But nevertheless she maintained kool and her calm

******

Then as if born out of the wind with the blessings of the sun and a kiss from moon beams
Came a Being unlike anything she had ever seen.
There it stood for sometime on the banks of the lake not doing or saying.
It just stood there.
She laid there in total awe of this new thing and was tempted to question its origin and intention.
But alas she could not move.

*******

A habit had been formed and could not so quickly be changed.
Then without warning something touched the lake in the center of its very core.
The lake was disturbed, it was troubled.
Not only did this thing touched its very core, but it kept going deeper and deeper.
What began as a small movement began to grow wider and deeper until every inch of the lake was troubled and ripples covered its surface.
Never to be the same again.

*******
Now when the wind swings by the lake smile widely in greeting and remembers the day when it could be silent no more.
That day when something wonderful touched its very core.
