How long, Oh Lord, do you want me to wait?
How long will it be, how much can I take?
You said in your Word that You will prevail,
And not require more than I can entail.

By faith I can see You're guiding each day,
The path that I trod, no longer my way-
Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light,
Tho' weary I get, Your strength is my might!

Forgive me for sin that brings unbelief,
For when I repent, You send sweet relief-
Your love still remains when all else is gone,
Reminding again that I'm not alone!

When I look around, there's others I see,
With needs greater than my own needs could be-
It makes me ashamed to even ask why,
For they seem content to daily get by!

So rather than ask, how long?, let me live
Each day with new hope, and willing to give-
To rise to new heights & look for the best,
Trusting that You will take care of the rest!
