Written for my precious Aunt Irene, who waits for us in Heaven!
Our Blessed Hope!
One night while on my bed I lay,
I saw Aunt Irene and heard her say
These words with such a smile and care,
Confirming she awaits us there!
'Don't weep for me because I'm gone,
I've made it to my brand new home
Through all the sorrows, trials and tests,
At last my weary soul finds rest!'
It's worth it all to be His child,
To make it through the last long mile,
It's worth it all to hear Him say,
'Well done, my child, you're home to stay!'
So serve Him while you're on life's shore,
For mortal life will soon be o'er
And when the Reaper calls your name,
You, too, will hear Christ say the same!
'Well done, my child, you've made it thru,
The joys of Heaven welcome you
Christ the Saviour, loved ones so dear,
Waiting is o'er, the family's all here'!
