The Blind Lady
Today I saw a sight that made me weep,
For all too often we think life is cheap-
But there within her store she bravely stood,
A woman blind, yet striving to do good!
Her task would seem so menial to some,
Yet she must demonstrate great strength to come-
Not physical, but in her 'will' she sees
This tiny possibility to please!
I'm sure at first she had to battle fear,
Fear of rejection; not knowing who is near-
And what if at this job she can't succeed
By selling goods that other folks might need?
So when we entered I asked God above
To gently touch her heart with His great love-
And keep her safe within the courthouse walls,
Each day that passes as she heeds her call.
Her handicap is now her cross to bear,
But God, no doubt, is totally aware-
And if within her heart His love abides,
Then one day she will see Him 'eye to eye'!
