My Friend

I asked if you would walk with me a mile, you said, "No, two",
So off we started, hand in hand, we found so much to do!
Adventure filled our days and nights along this friendship way
To parks and shops & scenic sights, & food galore each day!

Down to the beach, out to the mall or just to sit and stare
Up at the sky at night to see full moon and stars were there-
Life's so much fun when you can share your time with someone whom
Enjoys this life and strives to prove that friendship's still in bloom!

We live in such a fast paced world til friendship's almost lost,
So if you find within your realm just one it's worth the cost-
You are that one, my friend indeed, and this is sent from me
As but a small reminder of just what a friend should be!

Tho' time has passed, we're older now, yet still I see those miles,
And each time that I reminisce it brings to me such smiles-
For life was meant to be a time to share with someone dear,
If for a season, or a reason, whether far or near!

Don't ever fell like you're alone now that you're far away,
You'll always be dear to my heart thru each and every day-
I love you and appreciate the fact that you and I
Will share this bond of friendship, yes, until the day I die!
