A Daily Prayer

Lord, it's a new day; You know what it holds,

I give it to You, Your will to unfold.

You know when I'm weak, and too when I'm strong,

Always to you, Lord, I want to belong!

Allow me the strength to do all the tasks

Required for this day, is all I will ask-

Decisions to make, I need Your strong hand

To guide me each step and help me to stand!

For only You know the purpose, intent,

And reason this time in life has been sent-

So, "Thy will be done", is my simple prayer,

May I humbly bow and find sweet rest there!

Let me not conform to what others do,

But rather transform, to be more like You-

Renewing my mind so that I may prove

What Your perfect will in time may remove.

Desiring to walk this last mile of the way

With those whom I love and cherish each day-

Just let faith arise and let fear be gone,

Moving time's soon to our eternal home!
