A world of life

created for those that laugh and cry

and love and lose.

                                    Writing's Done

Bitter-Sweet.

That that I’ve done.

The days, weeks, months and years.

That that I’ve done through

twenty and four years of my life.

Bitter-Sweet.

Those brought to life that move,

that live through thoughts transmitted

from mind to tips of fingers.

Bitter-Sweet.

A world of life

created for those that laugh and cry

and love and lose.

Bitter-Sweet.

Those breathed life into that I longed with,

felt alone with and fought along with.

Bitter-Sweet.

All through now.

Twenty and four years

of the thought of words that draw the

pictures that you and you see within your mind

as the writer in me see within my mind:

The little boy that climbed.

The little boy that became a man.

The little boy that became a man,

that became an old man.

Bitter-Sweet.

The last sent now to become the

world created by me for you and you

to walk alongside:

The little boy that climbed,

the little boy that became a man,

the little boy that became a man

that became an old man.

Bitter-Sweet.

All through now.

All worlds created now.

My friends to become your friends.

Bitter-Sweet.

In the hands of others,

writing's done now.

Feels a little like empty-nest syndrome ... like losing a child and you feel lost. I can only imagine what it's like having spent all those years on a project and having it come to an end ... but the thing to remember is that it will be "out there" and your words will resonate for years to come. You will return to the keyboard and we'll all benefit from it. Fine write, Mark ~ Lizzie

I love "all the worlds created" except I would say, if we're breathing, we're writing and the writing is never, ever done! Nice verses, Mark.

I find your verses very compelling and thought-provoking, Mark. Love and peace to you,

Bitter sweet -- you think you know it all .... but you don't -- neither do I -- if you can still hold your pencil in your hand, allow your mind to create and dream ... it is never too late. Keep writing, fellow poet. Susan Williams

Like Georg said, you are still alive...to write. No writer becomes "old" and it's not done until you're done. (Is there anyone here who is old?)

All writing's done, well my friend, you are still alive, old, but alive, the only thing for you now, is to turn that end page and start writing again on the pristine page under your eyes!

Don't you dare give up, Mark, few can write with such precision, such emotion, to cut through to the soul - well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You carry such sadness in this piece, yet there is so much living to do, right?? Never over until it is over, brilliant...

Be always safe,
Karen

Mark,

How bittersweet is life. You've proclaimed it well.
