The Hole Within

Lonely for the one I’ve said goodbye to

though knowing it best for both her and me

still ...

still there is the hole within

where love had been...

where love still is.

Lonely for the words we’ve said

and the thoughts we’d shared

and the countless lines of...

Though distant as the moon

lonely for the words of passion

that were felt by both.

Lonely for the world...

Lonely for the world we shared

bound by nothing more than

the fingers that wrote the words

that tightened the bonds of  love

in the world...

That tightened the bonds of love

in our world where only existed

two of us.

In our world where only existed

her and me and our never to be...

In our world where only existed

two that loved and the long distance

heart pounding love that could never be.

Sorry it had ended?

I know I should not be!

Yet...

Yet there is still the hole within

where love had been...

where love still is.

If it were me, I think I would feel forever blessed that I shared this kind of love with someone, although I'm sure I would feel sad
that it never came to be. I do believe once the heart has been touched by love, there is always a special place within it where
no one else can enter, nor can that love ever be taken away. This write is packed full of emotion, Mark, and it is quite evident
that it comes straight from your heart. Beautifully sad and heart-rending. ~Lizzie

I am with Felix on this you were given the gift of love for however much time was yours to have, it is always a painful loss when for whatever reason it is not yours to keep...you still have the memories Mark.
I like your new photo

To be brutal, they said that after sitting on a thumbtack you will forget about it with time...but your butt won't.
No matter what, it hurts.

Georg

PS. You want love? wear a jock's hard cup! (LOL)

Lived a bit of this story long ago, took years to get completely over it. Maybe never did. Patrick

The yearning I think never goes away when love is found but then lost or given up because of things beyond our control. Still...would we really want to erase that past love if we actually could or treasure the memories bittersweet as they may be.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
