Impact

Such a profound impact you’ve made upon me

that even were we never to physically meet,

never to actually touch,

never to truly sense the feel

of your lips upon my lips,

of the other’s warmth

of the other’s touch,

of the fragrance of you

or the scent of me,  

though a part of my being is hollow,

though a part of my life senses a deep void,

though tears form

and my heart aches,

still I thank God to know that you are there

and that your heart aches for me

as does mine for you.
