 Passionless Passion

So what do you do

when,

closer to eighty than seventy,

what do you do

when the sense of passion

is still there,

when the urge for physical love

is still there?

What do you do

when the years have taken

what you have always had

and what remains

remains within the

sphere of that which is dictated by the brain

and yet,

as a man you know that what was there

might still be there

but the brain dictates

and warns that

it might not be there

so,

unfortunately what was there

is there no more…

Or is it?

When the upper brain

dictates to the lower brain

of a man

so what do you do

when the one you love,

when the one that loves you

lies alongside awaiting

that which,

as a man you’ve always had,

that which

as a man you’ve always

willfully,

happily,

needfully given.

Yet the one that loves

understands.

As the one that loves

is closer to seventy than sixty

the one that loves understands

and willfully,

happily accepts

that which is the result of years now gone by.

And the closeness

of her body to my body

dissipates the passion

of our earlier years,

that dissipates the heat

that we’ve both felt

that is now transformed

into a…?

different kind of

passionless passion.

Let's put this in perspective, you've got each other, each having quite a few miles on the odometer. Headlights are working, engines may need a little work but still purr. Try something besides SAE 10W30. They make some pretty good synthetic lubricants now; try changing the oil say every 50 miles. Just make sure your emergency brake's off. Patrick

Couples start out as best friends...they morph into lovers...and then in later years...back into best friends! And that, my warm Californian friend, is what true love is all about! This is an honest look at the mutual love and respect between a man and a woman who know the meaning of real love!

Your Northern friend,
Anna

Father time can be cruel, can't he? But, to be near to someone who cares about you, to hold that person closely in your arms, to whisper sweet sounds of love and tenderness....ah, that can mean everything to a woman. Don't worry, just revel in the caresses of your Lady.
