To Skibo, Too

My thoughts having returned

to my deceased friend Ski (skibo)

herein we have a letter

buried within a drawer

discovered years after her death.

Thank you, God,

for my husband,

as he is everything

I could want.

He is my best friend,

my lover and my confident.

He has nourished our marriage

with humor in good times and bad.

He has made a difference in

this world with his Christian

commitment to his family and me.

He is loving, caring and honest

with broad shoulders to rely on.

I still see rockets and stars

when I look at him.

He is still that same handsome,

tall Marine, my prince charming.

I am sure I am loved

and that we have something

beautiful and special within our love.

He always gives, for he has given me

thirty-four years of happiness and love.

I pray I can offer back to him

some of the love he has given me.

We are so very blessed,

and I love him so very much.
