My heart thunders.
Eyes--hating, burning,
have found my soul,
a cache of complexity.
The carbon-copy men
come with common snears
despising everything
they used to be.
I scream in the storm
of their contempt.
You're so special,
you're so talented,
You make us small,
You burn too bright!
You have no permit
to exist, tell us
what gives you
the right--
--to an unfair
genetic advantage.
The law of the land
is equality.
You're too much this,
and too much that.
Less is more,
we all agree.
They drag me into
the maw of science
for resequencing.
The switch is thrown
Matter becomes energy
my quantum state
attains its flux,
and I am rewritten.
Who am I, I ask them,
My mind whiped away.
Nevermind they answer
run along and play.
lose youself in the
distance, in the silence,
in so many shades
of gray.
Very good,,,I know why I hadn't posted today, everything I've read has been much deeper than my weak little mind and reach. Or maybe that I will let it reach. But no matter, this is a wonderful write, and you are a great poet,,,,Lisa
