Duplicity Banished

To all who harbor angst at a distant past relationship, this purge is for us. Closure heals all, they say.

Duplicity Banished

I held you aloft

even as you tried to boil life down to God inspired perversity

lashing me to the mast of your storm drenched Succubus

of dark angeled pleasures ratcheting up

your windmill of puscasious delirium

for a "venal cleansing" you later called it

Awash with the residue of your shard encrusted brine and slithering lies

you led a Cyclops army of deception

who with needle eyed centaurs roiled

the thunder laden blitzkrieg

upon my padded bunker of gauze veiled tenuity

When did you conspire to inflict cardiac tattoos

upon life's cave of hieroglyphs

man's grotto of submerged etchings

and cacophonic echoes of the past?

How far back in your debaucherous wake

did the cream on your crafted pie spoil into

maggot infested moldiferous delecto?

You and the madness of your lair dared the playact of sanity

to brazen your way into my flicker housed sanctuary

orchestrating the venal hum of locust wings

to obliterate the acoustics of my inner sound stage

where Eisenstein, Wells, Fellini, and Godard

wove my darkness into a solemn ancestry

of digitized archives

my images of solace

As the hemorrhaging engulfed what little solitude was left

you wallowed in convulsive dance behind the hidden walls

of your mustard-green madhouse of scorched wormholes

And all for what?

So dare not try and infect my Louvre of reborn images

with further seepage of your breeched waste

know that my pastels are now fortified against your orgiastic indulgences

my Socratic inspired synapses cling steadfastly to the Sartre lullabies of reality

keeping forever the hope that you'll never infect another's smile

that no one will ever again lie next to your molten dawn of slumber's nightmare

that its mud-honey taste of gelatinous mass will never lure another

through the primeval ooze of your tar pit legacy

Now your war drums are muffled

your gender based insurgency stifled

your psycho drama now behind the blood drenched

curtain of our final act

Are you shocked by my awakening?

Have I told you how delicious it is to dream of your bullfrog glower

upon hearing the final decree

handed down through the phallic frenzy

of an all female jury?

For even as you tried to vandalize the poetry of my redemption

its moral integrity was sequestered in the forever ever of muse

flagrant rape of my mind failed

and the smiles ghost still walks across my face

the delecto of time

IF ever again you trumpet your arrival

beware of passion's gale whipping its cape in dervish invitation

at the bull that now stands dormant...

The powerful imagery and symbolism emphasizes your theme, Odin; and they awaken the emotions as well. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Odin,

Most unusual and creative use of words, and done very well.

a powerful investigative poem into the personal ramifications and effect of an unfortunate past relationship ... many excellent lines and passages ... yes, for anger to heal it must be purged ...

"IF ever again you trumpet your arrival
beware of passion's gale whipping its cape in dervish invitation
at the bull that now stands dormant..."

on second thought, past passion or even its potential recoil will make the bull standing without any balls ... hope in the process it doesn't become too dizzy ...

"Are you shocked by my awakening?" I doubt that the recipient of this scathing cathartic would have made it past "the primal ooze of your tarpit" Odin ... not only do I relate to this, I celebrate it; the intense phraseology, the ebb and flow of it's development, and the warrior spirit. I, too, have been through a time of purging from another. For me it was my dishonorable first wife. Regrettably most of those, filled with the angst and anger and confusion of a failed relationship, would internalize the war and (more than likely) turn to some escapist drug - be it illicit or cultish - and end up a shadow of themselves. Here, you've turned the tables most adequately, and honorably. Takes some guts putting something of this nature out for the public. May you find peace and continuing artistic inspiration. A powerful fulmination, Odin, expertly expressed. richard
