Weightless

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

We sometimes work so hard to create definition when it requires none.

Weightless

How pure this burden of weight

Some call isolation

Others deem connection

To the sometimes slow erosion of falsehood

To walk upon paths of nature’s blending

That sometimes circuitous route asking one

Accept disappointment

Embrace the lessons hard fought

Accept a leaf that reluctantly floats to its demise

Knows well the feather that follows

All life’s lessons deliver with regret

Conscious that without mistakes

There are no teachings learned

Oh love

Hard fought

Genuinely earned

Rejoice

For it is not for me

Or you

To possess

It is weightless

Amorphous wonderment

Reserved for those

Who might admit defeat

Yet know

Teachings are only valid

For those who seek

One’s realm of ethereal understanding

Weightless

How beautiful the reality

'how pure this burden of weight some call isolation' what an absolutely perfect opening line for this outstanding piece. the flowing of lines is wonderful and the whole work relatable. kudos ruan...pmedlin

i can identify with this soul and poetic
'condition', a state of the senses surely
but a state, too, of attitude and disposition..
to be loose and unbound
Odin, yes!

Odin Roark, full of grace, this missive presents as delicate admission. I think you have the eye of a sculpture. Certainly no ' "shapeless" wonderment'. Exquisite. ~~ Diana

very true, there is the saying let it go and if it comes back to you it's yours. Except that saying doesn't work, it will never come back the same.
