Enormity's Door A Crack

IT
comes unannounced
this glistening tether winding through the grass
at times from branch to outcrop
summit to sea
mindful reparations
through moonlit shadows

ITS messenger of leafy talls and shorts
morphing shards of sunshine's dare
to grow
to scorch
to prepare

Many days the costume transparent
or gilded in roguish armor
IT sits upon my shoulder
voicing choruses of caution
harmonies in search

Severed not
this barbed countenance of fear

Time mirrors its midnight cloud
to midday storms
espousing rewards arrival
by sacrifice's carriage

But now the pendulum pauses

The hourglass exhausts its anticipation
breath's stream meanders backwards
one's tributaries maze to ocean's expanse
overflow continues with time's charitable runoff

Respite asunder
unexpectantcy clears
the flutter of leaves
the new sprouts from memories' compost
the opaque echo of past
each become gentle overtones
for today opting

To be embraced
to be caressed
as remembrance echoes
melting icy figments
quenching tomorrow's
parched courage

The journey knows ITS all

Deserts come
oceans die

Dust we were
dust we are

Perpetuosity
knows only life

The bliss of IT
the all of IT

always nudging
