Who?

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Ever wonder what “really” makes the fingers grip the pen and write, or tap out a pattern of keys resulting in words that somehow usually make sense, even though we gaze at the paper and scratch our heads often with ”where did that come from?”

Who?

Who wrote this poem
This conjunction of thoughts
From memories
Mine?

Experiences solely
Mine?

Number, line and dot
Understandings
Mine?

Asking

Always we ask
From where
Drifts
Darts
Stabs
Slides
These words?

Assume we must

Alchemy of mind
Maybe?

Channeling
perhaps?

Inspiration
Mmm?

Answers

A guess
Assumption
Calculation
Odds
Chance?

Even when willing to
Ask
Assume
Answer
There seems to be no stopping
Our floating about
Pages our magic carpet
Transporting us to
Cave-walls yet to be discovered
Time's ancient etchings
Continuance awaiting arousal
From where this endurance originates?

We know not

We ponder

It comes from all of us, another person inside that sometimes surprises us... there hidden beneath the papers and the clutter.

Very well done :)

From whence cometh a quietus? It is the gaps between the words that interests me. The emotive and intellectual content that resonates within the perimeter of plosives and sibilants whose consonantal drift pulls at the fabric of reality we evoke with linguistic portent.

I understand what you are sharing here, Odin. Sometimes, I am "amazed" and "surprised" even when I see what comes upon the page of my mind and henceforth on the actual paper page or computer screen. It is almost as if I am merely used as an instrument or medium of someone else "out there." Thank you. Love and peace,

We all write from within,
Some from living in sin,
Some of our wayward kin,
But like you, we all write,
And to do so, we win...e

Hah! Ponder. Scratch our heads and crotch. Ponder. Sometimes I get start writing a poem after seeing some headline somewhere, or hear someone say something. When I write personal from memory its again with the pondering and scratching. Is this what happened, buster, or are you saying that is what happened because it's so cool? Whatever and whoever and whenever, we write because we can do nothing else.
