I like this work - it resonates and appeals as a cohesive and well structured yet simple edifice of words that carries clear meaning. I disagree with its message though - we live in a largely democratic world and the decisions rued by a conscious minority are in fact the work of the empowered majority. If we are doomed then we must blame the enfranchised, not a state of disenfranchisement which largely does not exist. You also take the conventional and unquestioning stance on climate change - and I am a loud and proud denier - not of change, but of the human contribution, such as it is. Now ants and rats and cockroaches have never evolved beyond elementary survival as a species; there is no super-genius cockroach to wipe out cockroach predators and cause the species to breed itself out of existence, but I'd rather be a doomed individual within a species doomed by its own genius than a - cockroach! Can we beat the odds? I think so, but catastrophe will come first, and maybe repeatedly.

One thing humankind has proven, in its short tenure on this blue marble, is that it cannot govern itself honorably or effectively. The negative momentum is too great now. A violent change is coming to this planet that will reveal, without question, who will be governing the seventh millennium. Peace to you ...

I've been wondering that for many years already, but I don't find many who seem very inclined to act on anything these extremely sad days.

It's always the little things. And I do like the style of this poem.

Doubtful, because whatever else we are, we are still the fairest of the nations. Yes, we have our villains, but no we do not have our dictators. Well, yeah we have a pseudo dictator, his name is Hussein. But he's biting the dust come November.

The sensory perception has left most of us, the warnings in the air are ignored, one comfort, the other fear, and not to forget, greed, I think a flask of DNA of the species, and a Noah's arc among the stars might save some from a different kind of flood, how many did listen then? It might have been just a biblical story, but the underlying truth pervades even now. You have opened a rich meal of delicate bits, who will share them? Consume them, and be nourished by them, before it's too late? Blessings!
