On the November day when many give thanks for all they have, perhaps the most neglected idea of Thankfulness is the simplicity and grandeur of manifest existence.

As time looks around 

ancient yet so new is the thrust of the cave man's spear

the flood of his primal wail

echoing through the narrow memory of man's mind

 

Newer still are we who walk with false pride of modern man

losing daily the value of remembrances

hubris-blinded by present and future as something greater than the past 

 

The vanity of We might never again appreciate yesterday's language

on the rocks

walls

parchment

paper 

ipad screens

and holograms

 

Beware

 

For even as we surge forward

so too does our progress oft times choose to forget

we are always but cosmos-cavemen

buried deep inside our pride

 

Life will always remain a never ending transformation

subject only to the imagined unimaginable

 

Time's creation is forever looking around

History teaches us a lot about ourselves that most people ignore except for entertainment. I have gone further to prehistory and the magnificent knowledge of the natural world and is technology that enabled the Ice Man to survive, to thrive 5000 years ago. We've got a lot still to learn from him.
