Some dreams never go away.

Toro

Naked matador
Laden upon enigmatic sands
Dreams on
As apparition appears

REM floods eyelids
Anguished energy
Scorches mind's honor
Reflects crimson's clever movement
As visual echoes fixate
Upon hidden sword

Muleta's dance begins
Mirrored motion incites slumber's bidding
Yesterday's blood pools steadfast
Tears tide forward
Intuit drowning begs the ebb
Sink passion's lust

Conquests cascade
Like molten waves
Flooding habits of survival
Daring yet another error
Tempting the inevitable

Slumber jolts upright
Memory's haunting holds
Dream's espada trembles
Challenging not its power

Sweat drenched ringlets
Cascade from specter's open wounds
Tsunami blood fills dream's perpetual coup
Another day remains...

Forever

I was chased by bulls in cow pastures while fishing a couple of times. You must've had a more frightening experience with al bull to be having these dreams. Or, you read Hemingway.

This is quite exquisite. Love the matador metaphor, and the way you tie these passions to the natural catastrophe at the close. But what is especially poignant is the finale with its open-ended, undying finality... some days are enshrined in eternity and live on long after the REM settles down to a stasis. I like how there is nothing at all static about your poem... you have a very active imagination, and this reader settles for nothing less. Enjoyed this read immensely, Odin.

Keep on dreaming,

Roger

Dreams can be quite powerful, and the powerful ones never seem to fade away.
