Hearth's flame
Sparks of ancient carbon igniting
Resurrecting memory's warmth
Even as ethereal glow rushes to ash

Outside

Winter's breath
Frosts the yesterdays
Where compost and reformative sleep
Co-mingle in solitude's meditation

Everywhere

Planting of hope
Begs invitation
As instincts may have waned
Even as new seeds await manifest

Somewhere

Lowers another casket
Its shroud of chaste lilies
Amidst impassioned roses
Enjoin with darkness
Soon to encapsulate
Ending's sorrow

And also...

Tears come
As a child's laughter
Fades into unforgotten testimony
