So few willing to 'Oorah'

How so sadly true these days. Oorah On!

I see this writing. I see the resolve of even the most determined as being the elation and despair of the comedy/tragedy theatre masks human beings seem to have to wear because we were given 'ego' in place of 'instinct,' it seems to me. The consciousness may look like the human face without the masks, and look like the consciousness as seen in the face of the ant, hawk and melting snow. It seems the awareness will continue to gasp in our custody, the beings who can breathe through the eye and mouth openings of the mandatory masks, but cannot stop the gasping because the masks have so far never been something we can 'take off' of us. The language of this poem conveys the insurmountability of the human condition, punctuated by the closing line. The positive in the negative is the human being who can write of the loss, who knows what the lost essence is, and that it is still here, waiting. That is an awareness in itself. ~~ Diana
