Much said in this wonderful poem that cries for attention to each line.

I see a verbal sculpture in this poem, Odin, a sculpture that tells a substantial story with a handful of impressions. Your title could not be more perfect for the vision of the piece, which in my eyes speaks clarity of point made. I envision a rough and egoic hand crushing petals, as well as heavy feet, thorns a-sticking. I like the lines: "The very lesson/The what of question," and the four lines "Awaits the simple......prescience" "Borne of self-love" effectively speaks of the platform that holds up all further love. I like that succinctness. "Trekking their emotional path/Through gardens of disillusionment" pairs with 'without compass' so perfectly and creates a vision of 'waywardness.' From those lines I feel the waft of lost soul anguish in my watching. Your last stanza is delivered as from the clear blue eyes of a seasoned sage, seeing all, missing nothing. I had to look up 'nexus.' Thank you. ~~ Diana
