Some would argue, personal reality is first a dream.

Poem Artwork
Where Go Dreams?
by Odin Roark

So profuse these dreams of ours
Whether remembered from childhood
Or like the prevailing daily threat
Torrential rain of sorrow
Granule snow-like smothering
Whipping currents of guilt’s every present wind
Pushing our inner thoughts
Welcoming us to outside
Brain branding
Inescapable to many

Oh how we allow delusion

Thinking we can control our dreams
Not knowing such
Will not to be corralled
Existing as inner truth
Impossible to extinguish

Yet

We dash
Bash
Slash
The dreams inexorable

Why?

We succumb
Or suffer
Or become the fortunate few
Able to embrace the pain
As lessons needing to be learned
Survival affordable

Oh how subservient we’ve become
Outside forces telling us
Forcing us
Controlling us

For…

We have abandoned our childhood
When imagination
Aspiration
Determinate dreams
Were without intimidation

And some label this as
Arrival into adulthood

Bullshit!

Amen to this, Odin. Your finger is so on the 'pulse' of this. "Impossible to extinguish" indeed. I'm thinking even the fortunate few are not exempt. I love "Oh how subservient we've become" because that can be a consensus most accurate for nearly everything contemporary. Glinting out of this piece of substance you have written is: "We have abandoned our childhood." I believe that is the key to just about everything. Amen, amen. ~~ Diana

I don't remember my dreams ever been a problem in my childhood. Dreams only became a problem when they became repetitious about some problem I had at work and wouldn't let me sleep.

Bullshit, yes ... and yet ... dreams require brain activity, some nano-wattage or horsepower ... might'nt they help to power the universe?
