To focus on which aspect of night we opt to live by proves rather daunting to some.

Night Choice
by Odin Roark
To walk
Run
Slump
Pass out
Ride the bus
Grab a taxi
Drive the weave
Limo the luxury of escape
Or
Sit the quiet
Of imagination
Before a window
Where beyond the images
Rests the inner you
The night is dark for some
Light for others
Silence as option
Chaos as norm
Such is the choice of night’s essence
Bright lights
Pulsating
Bombastic
Organ jostling
Noise
Car horns
Arguments next door
Boom box escapes two buildings down
Sirens
Miscellaneous panic in the streets
Versus
Alone
You
A room
A chair
The mind’s somnambulistic peace
Delineating begs attention
For without embracing the aphotic quandaries
There is no room
For dreams to fulfill
Reality’s shortfall
Such is nature’s enigmatic darkness
Considerations too few consider
Given night is just night
To many
Ron
Light for others
Silence as option
Chaos as norm
How so very true, and the night is always most marvelous to me,
when I'm in a silent forest, staring up at the moon and trees.
Well done!
