Antennae

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Decisions, opinions, arguments abound amidst an endangered Nature. One finds it difficult to NOT see the world as victim caught in its own metaphoric whirling dervish-like blurred vision. Our digital age: Simple…complex…answerable?

Poem Artwork
Antennae
by Odin Roark

Adjusting our antennae
what lengths will the waves of continuum require?

Will smiles ever again evade
our angered overload and distortion
our tears slowly dissolving connections?

Can this new means
this universal transmission
merge emotions with
intellectual spark
avoid destruction by fire
allow flame to alight candles
not infernal machines of hate?

Will the mountain stream
continue to carry the simplicity of
leaf-sail atop bark-boats of innocence
floating child-like imagination
into man's unquenchable ocean of mind?

Will orbiting satellites
someday conjoin swirling auras of Nature?

Will questions beg "When" answers

"When" can be a long time for Ones and Zeros
aspiring to know
to think
to be of Nature

Can such digits ever tell us
how near the Singularity truly is
that point where all parallel lines meet
the point where a measured variable
reaches unmeasurable or infinite value
that moment beyond which technological progress
will become incomprehensibly rapid and complicated?

And if such movement be resolved
might man's moral compass
risk annihilation?

Life's antennae awaits adjustment
but what direction?

If one wishes they can adjust the frequency of their antennae. Life is energy, thoughts are energy. To me I have to learn continually how to block interruptions, protecting my antennae. But these days, this electronic age, it seems not only a lost art, but harder. When your in the mountains, around nature, the vibration, frequency is so much clearer. You can become "Naturally" Atuned to your surroundings. That tells me that the concretes jungles, the masses are just not the place to be. Each time I go into big cities, I'm reminded. We are naturally in tune with nature, the outside. Just my thoughts.

And so goes the enigmatic wanderings of that, them, ?

We are but a generation or two away from unfathomable concepts, things that cannot now be dreamed of, and there will be a tradeoff of body to mind, spirit to quantum physics. M.True
