Today’s Madness Becoming Tomorrow’s….

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

As the Middle East 24/7 chaos of wanton acknowledgment, struggle versus self-loathing, survival versus genocide continues its relentless bombardment upon every and anything happening there and elsewhere, the Midnight Sun is becoming perpetual, offering nowhere to escape, unless into the “within” where we can listen to that small voice still alive for the conscious.

Today’s Madness Becoming Tomorrow’s….
by Odin Roark

As darkest nights
become darker,

As still air
begins to suffocate,

As no light
offers blinded foresight,

We embrace our inner betrayal.

We convince ourselves
so much is insane,
we leave but to crane our necks,
look once again
over our shoulder
and ask…
what happened?

So says the child watching from a distance
the one we’re leaving behind,
the one gripping tight to Innocent’s hand,
hoping another lost dream
is not tomorrow’s madness becoming.

Oh, to be conscious as a child today.

To be in a mind where the beauty of all imagined possibilities and the ugliness of all dire sins committed can free or forever break the gentile spirit of youth. Do we even consider such a state of fragile innocence anymore? I weep for the children... M.True

it's a mad mad world today with the wars, the ISOS and all the countries having the worst rulers, the ones that do, and get no sympathy from me, the poor children must suffer in wartimes, not good at all.
