Life’s Warranty

Like bald tires in torrential rain,
Our forward progress struggles
To avoid sliding into a ditch,
Or averting head-on collisions.

Tomorrow is likely to come,
But not without risk,
For any distance traveled
Is guaranteed fraught with the unexpected.

Yet, who is not aware…

The mind’s often inclement weather
Renders precarious lifetime-roads of twists and turns,
Often tear-drenched by emotional downpours,
Compounded by survival’s often ignored maintenance.

Lest we forget…

Like the treads beneath an auto’s body,
We too must balance
That which supports our continuance,
Align its need to keep heart and mind in parallel respect,
And maintain air’s oxygenated pressure
For longevity’s extended warranty.
