Anticipating Yesterday’s Tomorrow

Through questions without answers,
amidst memories not yet born,
there awaits answers to be earned.

Walking through yesterday’s tomorrow,
that place where mind and spirit know each other well,
a shadowed darkness of anticipation
segues nightmares into sleeping rainbows not yet realized,
prepares palettes of life’s colors not yet defined,
where the light quietly waits to dawn
a kaleidoscopic spectrum of epiphanies.

Destiny dictates we’ll take that walk through a tonight of our tomorrows,
where within slumber there will be the sweet fragrance of our smiles,
the dance of translucent thought and feeling upon our lips,
proclaiming the love we provide each other from our yesterdays,
remaining truth forever immersed within our sunrises...
our sunsets.

Yesterday’s tomorrows are so promising
for those of us who refuse to carry the disappointments of the past,
the lessons learned at a cost,
the excess baggage better left behind.
