Socrates Furiously Sleep...Still

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

It is truly sad that a being such as Andreas Lubitz chose to focus on “Everyone will know me one day” as opposed to him exercising the more important effort to know himself. Such begs the question: was one’s “wall of resistance” all figured out in ancient Greece? “Let him that would move the world first move himself.” Socrates. (Image by Gordin)

Poem Artwork
Socrates Furiously Sleeps…Still
by Odin Roark

Rainbows collapse into molten ooze
as the mind’s lodge-sweat attempts
purging fear’s denial again.

Still…

Our minds coalesce into white-hot suffering,
helpless against the searing heat of falsehood.

As melting cools,
resistance to truth becomes defenseless,
the resonance of reality awakening to all,
save those who deny their own honesty.

Socrates furiously sleeps…still,
patiently waiting for our dawn of light
to illuminate life’s integrity within.
