Sincerity

How challenging,
this will to be sincere.

Having purposely ignored lessons,
even with Nature’s patience,
falling leaves,
crystalline snow flakes,
a spring runoff to rejuvenate,
went untended,
even as our innate trust in humanism,
confidence the species could/would awaken,
we abandoned our sentient energy
the gift given to our species,
an irresponsible misuse,
too often reducing intelligence
to toxic ignorance,
with nature witnessing it,
each and every day.

How little it takes…

Yet, what is happening
to our hearts,
regardless of the mind’s dumbing down,
(Media: thank you very much).
is an admittance of fault
an inability to apologize for a wrong,
to give credit to accomplishment,
to constructively review,
to be without childish angst,
to celebrate another’s supremacy,
to accept shortcomings,
to be content with the best we are.

Where did we go astray?

Why?

Perhaps such values became lost,
buried,
made irrelevant in a populous-quest for “success.”

Ah, yes. The magic word, “success.”

We are capable of so much more,
so powerful our innate energy,
our birthright to rise above monetary accomplishment,
to be part of a Socratic will to pursue truth,
and yet…

We give the Trumps of our world credence.

How pleasurable the path for some,
this being fucked with eyes permanently closed.
