Love... Each Day

Often, I remind myself to ask: Do we find love, or does love find us?

Poem Artwork
Love... Each Day
by Odin Roark

To gather love's petals of laughter,
its dewdrops of sadness,
its rays of being,
is to be somewhere love needs to be... each day

But for love to turn the many corners
without looking both ways
is to leave behind its subtle wisdom,
its flowers in bloom
its clouds of caution
the sun’s assuring comfort
that awakens our every morning,
and the urgency that guides love to
be where it needs to be... each day.

Oh, to be the cycle itself,
the embraceable mystery
sometimes veiled in tearful mist
giving needed drink to its damaged rose,
moistening sorrow’s loss,
refreshing for new beginnings,
remaining aware around and beyond the corners
to unknown heartscapes,
always where love needs to be... each day.

Rewards bide time
as love remains poised at each daybreak,
ready to be enjoyed,
shared as a rapturous awakening,
if we will but round the corners respectfully
knowing love is preparing where it needs to be… today.

Yes, it can be trying…

Given passion’s sorrow must purge toxic tears,
allow a broken heart to mend,
feel affection’s promised touch once more,
and ready another chance for joy’s permanence
as we glance around the next corner.

Love is always preparing where it needs to be... today.

We have eyes to see, ears to hear, hands to touch, taste to savor - instruments of love - and a heart to direct the symphonies.

Thanks
Chris

I think when we learn to love ourselves the way we are and not the way we think others perceive us, then we open the door to allow love to come in. It's amazing how easy it is to find love when we quit pursuing it like some kind of prize.

Such a thorough outlook. Indeed, we can only love when caution is thrown, forever, away.

I would love to think that love finds you whenever you're in need.. It's a comforting thought.. I hope it happens more often than what a pessimist thinks.. Lovely poem.. Thank you
