Razor Wired Doves

With so much to consider in World politics, (I.E, our President Elect taking a call from Taiwan’s president) these few words are posited to perhaps help arrest some cooperative conscience in us all.) (Image by Pinterest)

Razor Wired Doves
by Odin Roark

A cabinet of vultures in white feathered masquerade,

Demonstrate,
Propagate,
Disseminate,
Relegate,
ego enhanced propaganda.

But must we tolerate?

For who among us has not wished a Cause
hoped of Peace,
gazed upon our oft times
pointless lives and wondered?

Might I find that purpose?
Might an olive branch fill my grip?
Might I do and be of worth to peace?

Yes!

We most likely have,
with the small innate voice of reason within
screaming of logic louder.

And yes,

We have most likely,
like the Donald has done,
held our breath as we faced
another 21st century outhouse of
ignorance-fueled venom,
complimented with bio-enraged bigotry,
inviting our waste-conscious inner self
to step on in,
as the door is slammed,
its iconic half-moon-carving for air,
sealed by duplicitous stuffing of
political and moral pundit speak.

Sadly…

Hate mongering would have us
allow this cabinet their directional will
to maintain and service our moral compass
toward the melting pole of reason.

For whether we approve or not,
like a thorn-crown of yore,
rectitude's needle-guided direction
will most likely be replaced
with another as yet unencumbered echo chamber,
a surreal trap for the olive branch of peace,
wafting the familiar stench of ignorant sepsis
up from the ever so close edge of Trump’s odious abyss.

Perhaps we need be more aware of
the thorn-enhanced pick-up and delivery schedule,
the fast approaching January 20, 2017.

"… Arrest some cooperative conscience…" Doesn't ring very true. Is there a wrong word here?

I didn't seem to get your point in the poem until near the end where it became more clear. Yes, we are rapidly approaching the no man's land of January 17 and all wondering what will begin to happen then.

What's happening now seems almost worse than the campaign. With a few interesting changes of heart (like talking to the "other" Chinese and the Gore of the heat movement).

see, 16 years to the millennium and 16 after. . . and in another 32 years the 60-year (+4) cycle will be closed to know exactly where we are. Cheers, alex

Your writing reads as a prophesy! I must agree with what John has written. I shudder to think!

Love ya!

And we thought 1984 was ominous. Who could have predicted or believed what we are about to experience. John
