You Ask...

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Before the country's back is completely broken in half, is it not time we awakened from our slumber and really did something about the duplicitous course of the White House and the Trump world? The most frightening part of all this is that economics may be only our society's "tip of the iceberg." (Image by Siwanowicz)

Poem Artwork
You ask,
“what is out there?”

Waiting in the darkness for us to falter
this influence that colors our soul at will,
sometimes fooling our hand
and leading us into ribbon-wrapped offerings,
thinking our will is but a matter of time.

Smiling at the pain we willingly endure to reach the end,
but with such patience
as to sleep while we run,
laugh when we cry,
this abnormality patiently waits with outstretched arms
as our motion slows to a skeptical crawl.

You ask,
“what is out there?”

Beware the masked protector,
the Mantidae of prayerful gesture
blending ever so subtly
into the landscape of ubiquitous ignorance.

GOD ALLOWS ALL THINGS FOR A REASON AND HERE WE ARE AT A TIME IN OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY WHERE, MORE AND MORE...WE 'M-U-S-T' PUT OUR TRUST IN GOD!!! I'M LOOKING AT THE BIG PICTURE; OUR CREATOR IS TAPPING US ON THE SHOULDER, TRYING TO GET OUR ATTENTION...IN THESE 'LOVELESS' LAST DAYS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

It never ceases to amaze me how people will stick to an outworn, obsolete idea or ideology without any hope of solving any problem or doing anything other than harm. Why are we so narrow-minded to think that "America First" is such a good idea when we have to partner with the world to solve global problems.

And to back a president so un-presidential and ignorant himself, shows the rotten interior of those that would fall for his simplistic slogans and solutions that simply won't work. Many of these will only make things worse.

Echoing what John said, this mad circus can't play it self out to soon.

"Into the landscape of ubiquitous ignorance." Yep, that about sums it up and down the line. There really is very little hope. The whole mad circus simply has to play itself out. John
