Once traveled…

Looking back are
hazy remembrances.

Today…

With misty unknowns ahead,
and their often windy moments of loneliness,
self-worth will provide a clearing for tomorrow,
asking us to not forget receding memories,
for they empower courage over fear
when future uphill challenges beckon.

These new open spaces
needing to be filled
with visions,
with tempestuous truths,
with excavations of doubt.

Is not to “be here now,”
with convictions of the heart,
acceptance of the mind’s untested paths, trails, roads,
providing yesterday’s lessons to become the clearing in the fog,
the wisdom and courage to embrace the unidentified journeys ahead?
