After reading a Susan Sontag essay on Ingmar Bergman, BERGMAN’S PERSONA, the question arises of how universal the following is for all disciplines of art. “…and thus read the film as a parable of the predatory, demonic energies of the artist, incorrigibly scavenging life for raw material.” Such an opinion is arguable. for premise come?
From What might the emotions
be stirred?
Why must the addiction prevail?
When will creation’s insistence cease?
For the artist…
Perhaps never?
