Pneuma’s Elusive Conundrum
Does Man breathe as a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi or Zen?
Is the breath all around not of any religion or cultural system,
neither from East or West,
out of the ocean or up from the ground,
natural or ethereal,
non-exclusive to this world,
or the next,
descending not from Adam and Eve
or any tales of origin?
Might this surrounding of ether be placeless,
merely a trace of the traceless,
an identity not discernible through labels or invention?
If Life’s aura drifts about as gentle air for lesson’s flow,
where with disciplined silence harmony appears,
can the spirit survive Man’s discordant habit,
will this calming reward remain pneuma’s elusive conundrum?
