Pain's Paradox Everlasting


Like Banyan trees of another kind,
Fathers beget sons beget fathers,
Nature's duality of passage,
Fraternal roots reaching skyward,
Winged youth spreading birth downward.

Through darkness imbued by maternal tears
Amidst light sometimes never seen,
Foretelling comfort of aging limbs,
Reason survives.

What breath we share.
What honesty mistake's compost provides,
Even as recurring pain
Carves indelible etchings,
Worn as scars indelible.

Ever mindful,
Survival reminds us:
Wisdom's lessons are earned,
Not given.
